A spiritual thriller for this generation and perfect for fans of 'What Dreams May Come' and 'The Sixth Sense'
Josephine Reilly is a typical young mother, striving to do what is best for her family in the suburbs of St. Paul, Minnesota. Declan, her ambitious and talented husband, has a thriving career as a corporate lawyer. On the surface, life could not appear more perfect. Yet, Josie has an unrealized gift, one that has haunted her since the drowning death of a childhood friend. Josie is a messenger, as were her mother and grandmother before her, carrying messages from the dead to the living through dreams, visions and telepathy. For years, Josie suppresses her gift but when her mother dies, she is unable to ignore it any longer. Upon exploring her ability, she finds she has underestimated the dangers in channeling the dead when those she loves become targets of an invisible evil. Her sanity comes into question and she is at risk of losing everything she holds dear. Then fate places Dr. Andrew Chase in Josie's path, a healer of supernatural capabilities. Only he hasn't come to prevent her fall . . . *The Uncommitted* is a compelling tale of the spiritual struggle within us and of the realities beyond our physical sight.

Review
The story has all the makings of the next *The Da Vinci Code* but I think it is even better... a wonderful love story, mystery, and mystical adventure all rolled up into one fast-moving and brilliantly told story. --Nick Chiarkas, State Public Defender Emeritus, author of Weepers
Goss boldly blurs the spiritual, the secular and the supernatural resulting in a story that, depending on how deep your faith goes, seems eerily real. --Michael Popke, The Isthmus
Solidly crafted and suspensefully written, The Uncommitted is the latest release from Margaret M. Goss and it proves something of a juggernaut when stacked up against other releases in the genre. Ingenious in its plotting, colourful in its characters, taut in its narrative, Goss ably creates an atmosphere thick with dread and ambiguity... --Book Viral review

She currently resides in Madison, Wisconsin with her husband, three children and her border collie-terrier.

page turner with heart
By Amazon Customer
The uncommitted is definitely a page turner. It was the perfect companion for air travel on a two day business trip. The story had a great mix of spooky/supernatural with traditional spirituality and religious history. From the beginning of the book and throughout, she builds the characters such that you the reader feel empathy for them. I was torn as I wondered where the ending would bring the characters. The choice of locales within the book brought many connections personally, and appealed to me as someone who loves numbers and how they play into the world. I am looking forward to a hopefully soon to follow book 2.

A Captivating Thriller!
By Artorian
If you are looking for a work on the supernatural that is as spellbinding as it is real, look no further than “The Uncommitted” by Meg Goss.
In Goss’s novel, Josie, a young woman with supernatural abilities is in a conflict living between her worldly roles of a nurse, devoted wife and mother and the psychic, supernatural powers. She pursues the extra-sensory world to the objection of her Declan, her politically ambitious husband. In the process Josie travels through her own “Inferno” tormented by evil spirits, abandoned by her religious figures and her family and committed to a psychiatric ward. As she struggles with these torments, her brave quest for redemption is both inspirational and heroic.
The “Uncommitted” is well written and its prose reads easily; indeed, the novel can be read in one sitting. Her characters and dialogue is are well developed enough to be real. Its short chapters move on quickly as Goss creates an element of suspense and surprise all throughout the story; the reader does not know what will happen next. Each episode is well conceived leading to an unexpected ending. Written from the main character’s viewpoint, Goss draws the reader into Josie’s, spiritual world. Along with this, Goss also brings to fascinating spiritual idioms such as the existence of saints in various dimension of time and space.
I finished reading "The Uncommitted" with the same satisfaction of reading a classic. If a novel causes me to recall the plot weeks later, it has a major impact on me. The Uncommitted had that type of hold on me and it will on you. A must read!

Having a perfect combination of supernatural forces tied to conventional religious practices
By J. Thomas Munson
I found the struggle for Josie to be rather intriguing from a viewpoint of communicating with the dead, to bringing about messages to the alive and very strong gift. Yet it is discovered that having a gift such as communicating with dead, something evil is bound to surface. Having a perfect combination of supernatural forces tied to conventional religious practices, we can see a true struggle of belief systems, some that might even challenge our own ways of viewing the spiritual world. Emotions will run wild with this well written and truly touching story. The Uncommitted by Margaret M. Goss is truly worth a read.
