No new information, a lot of what's said in the book is very "common sense". One of the make selling points for this book was that the author went "from homeless to making $10,000 a month!" well she didn't explain how that happened at all. Basically obvious savings advice recycled. a lot of repeating things (I think she mentions reusing ziplock bags about 4 times) also very preachy.

I didn't notice that this was a Christian slanted book, but even if that aspect doesn't appeal to you, this is still a good read for getting one's financial house in order. The basics are pretty much the same as the Dave Ramsey teachings, but Titus presents it in a tone that makes it feel like you're just talking to a good friend and getting some solid advice based on her own experience. She even includes her own realistic human failings, something that is quite normal anytime we're trying to break old habits and form new behaviors. It's the picking up and keeping moving in the right direction after a fall that will see one through to the goal. Though I didn't learn much new because I'm already working with the Ramsey method, I did pick up encouragement to just hang in there from someone who hit a rather low spot, figured out her "why" for digging out, and who has achieved a comfort level that is realistic. There are a few typos in there, but not enough that I felt it necessary to ding a star.

Very easy to read. It reads as if the author is talking to you face to face. Excellent reminder of Ramsey's money principles. I really enjoyed hearing the encouraging story of how someone went from homeless to well off.
